People of different ages have different needs for speech therapy.

Adults tend to come see us following some sort of adverse event, such as a brain-injuring accident, stroke, or neurological decline. Even suffering from a concussion can warrant speech therapy during the healing phase. Adults also see us for swallowing impairments, also known as dysphagia, which tend to become more common as we age, following a neurological event, and during the treatment phase of laryngeal cancer or throat cancer.
Infants and newborns may need help learning to latch and to swallow for improved breastfeeding/bottle feeding in order to maintain or improve nutrition.
Toddlers may become picky eaters or have difficulty swallowing/chewing as they transition to solids. Toddlers and young children may also have delays in their speech and language development.
School-aged kids need help with pronunciation, articulation, language or reading comprehension, and overall language usage.
Teenagers are often seen to address comprehension, stuttering, articulation, and pragmatic skills. We also assist in developing everyday life skills for teens with special needs in order to increase independence in the real world.
Precision Speech Therapy works closely with physicians and physical therapists in the Forney area. They are part of a powerful network of local providers, and are often called upon by a physician or other medical professional to provide therapy for improving speech, swallowing, and other related issues for medical patients.
Precision Speech Therapy is housed together with Precision Sports Therapy, which is run by Eric Steinke, Holly’s husband.

Their proximity allows these two different types of healing centers to optimally serve all of their clients by working together to ensure clients receive all of the physical therapy and speech therapy they need. These two types of services sometimes go hand-in-hand, particularly when speech therapy needs result from a trauma to the brain such as accident or stroke and the patient requires therapy for developing other motor skills in the body as well. In these instances, our close proximity to one of Forney’s top physical therapists is very convenient.

At both Precision Speech Therapy and Precision Sports Therapy, we delight in supporting our patients as they pull themselves forward into greater health, confidence, and vitality.

We succeed when our patients succeed in reaching their goals for improvement. We are honored to help facilitate this type of targeted growth, helping individuals overcome their personal challenges with their motor skills and communication abilities. When our time together is complete, we will say good-bye with sadness because we will miss our time together, but with great pride in your improvement! Seeing the new version of you emerge, and the new smile you wear, brings us tremendous reward, and is the whole reason we do this work.

We are here to serve your needs for help with speech, swallowing, communication, and more.
